    [this is a tax abatement for a Township Suites by Marriott, close to the entrance of S. 3rd Street and I-70]
  6. Special Ordinance 15, 2024 = Authorizing Payment In Lieu Of Taxes (PILOT) for River Valley Apartments LLC
    [This was tabled back on April 11. This is going to be a PILOT program for a low-income housing project just south of Harrison’s Crossing Health Campus on N. 4th Street, close to Union Hospital’s campus]
  7. Special Ordinance 16, 2024 = Rezoning of property located at 1116 and 1132 Poplar
    [this is a remodeled house that, on the first floor, has a business (can’t remember business as of right now), on Poplar between S. 11th and 12th Plan is to make it a craft store and private dining on 1st floor and residence on 2nd]
  8. Below is a tax abatement compliance form. Believe this is either based on state or local law, what the City Council does is to make sure that businesses that have a tax abatement stay in compliance with their stated abatement; if they’re not in compliance, the abatement gets revoked. Council hold annual hearings once a year (around this time of year) to make sure all the abatements are in compliance. More coming in next few months:

    [this would re-establish a responsible bidder ordinance in Terre Haute for public works jobs over $150K]
  2. General Ordinance 5, 2024 = Amending City Code, Chapter 9, Article 5, Sections 9-116 and 9-117, Waste and Refuse Collection Fees
    [this would increase sewer fees to $15-16/month until 2026. However, it would also increase several credits: 33% off for 65 and older, disabled and veterans (from 25%) and 50% for those that pay for recycling]

First, per Terre Foods, they’ll be doing a presentation on March 7th for a request for ARPA funds towards their grocery store in 12 Points, with a City Council vote for March 14th.

      [this is for the Terre Haute Humane Society for construction of a low-cost vet clinic]

      [for several capital projects: overpass at 13th Street and 8th Avenue; parking garage at the former VCSC administration building in downtown; Brown Avenue Storm Water Project; City Hall upgrade; and upgrade at several city parks]

    [this is for the purchase of new ambulances and various equipment]

    [this is for the purchase of a new funeral tent (previous one is over 20 years old!) and cremains stands (previous ones made out of wood and Astro Turf!)]

    [appears to be how to deal with construction along city’s rights-of-way, replacing excavation work for the Department of Engineering]
  6. Special Ordinance 2, 2024 = Rezoning of property located at 1462 Lafayette Avenue
    [this is on the northwest corner of Lafayette and Delaware, somewhere between 12 Points and Plaza North. Previously Manny’s Café, proposed use for a car sales]
  7. Special Ordinance 6, 2024 = Rezoning of property located at 1001 South 6th Street
    [presently, this is the condos at Anthony Square in Farrington’s Grove.]
  8. Special Ordinance 8, 2024 = Rezoning of property located at 2730 North 13th Street
